What are remote AI training jobs?
AI companies need people to write, check and rate the data their models learn from. AI training jobs (also called AI trainer, data annotation, RLHF or AI evaluation jobs) pay you to do this work remotely: writing and grading answers, comparing model responses, labelling images, audio or video, recording speech, or reviewing AI output in your own field of expertise.
Who can apply?
Generalist roles (data collection, transcription, voice and video recording, consumer and usability testing) usually ask for good written English or another language and attention to detail rather than a degree. Browse Data Collection or Transcription.
Expert roles are for doctors, lawyers, engineers, software developers, scientists, finance professionals and PhD holders, who review and write content in their own field. These pay the most. Browse Healthcare & Medicine, Coding & Engineering or Finance.
Eligibility often depends on where you live: when a platform limits a role to certain countries, the listing shows them. Daily top 10 by region: Americas, Europe, Africa, Asia.
How much do AI training jobs pay?
Across the 927 open roles with a published hourly rate, pay ranges from $6 to $500 per hour, and the median starting rate is $50 per hour. Generalist tasks sit at the lower end; licensed and specialist roles at the top. OpenJob only shows pay as the platform publishes it and never estimates it.
Are AI training jobs legit?
Many are real, paid contract work from established platforms, but scams exist too. A few rules that protect you:
- Never pay to apply, and never buy equipment or training from a recruiter.
- Apply only on the platform's official website. OpenJob sends you there directly.
- Most roles are independent contractor work: hours and project availability can change, and talent pools do not guarantee assignments. Listings marked as talent pools say so.
- Check the eligible countries before you apply.
