About the role
Part-time work for senior character animators with a leading AI lab building a performance transfer model: define quality standards for how well an actor's performance carries over (body mechanics, facial nuance, timing, emotional intent), critique generated performances shot by shot, build benchmark sets of reference performances and help calibrate the human reviewer pool.
Experience
10+ years as a hands-on character animator at Senior, Lead or Principal level; animator credits on several feature films, VFX features or AAA game cinematics at recognized studios; strong eye for micro-expressions, lip sync, weight and timing. Strongly preferred: facial animation, real-time engines (Unreal or Unity), VR/XR or performance capture, and hands-on use of generative image and video tools. The listing asks for in-person working sessions in Playa Vista (Los Angeles) or New York once or twice a month.
